Creating out of nothing

People frequently create something from nothing. At least it seems so. As a matter of fact they just find something which other people don’t see at a first glance. Creative people take all available resources and combine them in a new way.

It is the matter of applying our thoughts, enthusiasm, energy and other available resources. We see a person. We praise him and create his good mood. We raise feelings in him and help him to be valuable. We attract attention of people to some insignificant facts and make facts significant. We've increased value of these facts.

We make motorcycles. Motorcycles are just affordable motor vehicles for long distance off-road traveling. But… We began to make music videos with motorbikes, create fan clubs and its inherent slang, make different additional articles which necessary and unnecessary for motorcycle owners. So we create a subculture, a way of life bound to the motorcycle. It is the way of Harley Davidson brand. These guys have created a cult from a simple motorcycle.

We make different signatures on t-shirts and make an ordinary t-shirt to be an additional expression of our personality. Do you realize? Just a simple word placed on a t-shirt changes the function of the t-shirt. Now it’s purpose not only to cover and warm up our body. It helps us to start a conversation with a stranger or to become a part of a special community.

Rolex is not just watches. It shifts our status in the eyes of some people.  Add some element to a common thing and you’ll have another kind of a thing in the outcome.

Your company has a little presence at the web? Nobody in your company knows what is the usage of a company’s blog? Create a good blog for your company where you can communicate with your customers freely and you’ll bring additional interest from the customers what can impact on sales growth. You’ll make value for your company out of nothing. The opportunities are everywhere. We just should search for them. Nothing will come out without an effort. We should dig, we should think, we should try.

When you apply for a job you can make unusual curriculum vitae. Traditionally we just make a list of facts about ourselves. But you can add some imagination to it. You can make it more personal to help your employer to understand you and your capabilities better. When you come to an interview you is a complete stranger to the employer. If you add some personality to your data it can help you to get acquainted with your employer better.

Our brain has an interesting trait – it takes no notice of things which it doesn’t anticipate.
Experienced pathfinder can find faint traces on a road and describe the animal which has left them. He can tell its sex, age, weight; whether it injured or not, how long ago it has left these traces and even how fast it was moving.

What could you see on this road? Would you have noticed the traces at all? I convinced you‘d have if you would have tried to. And with practice and study you would be able to find out the other information about this animal as an experienced pathfinder can do. You just have to understand what animal to look for and where is its habitat.

There’s always something around us that we don’t see because we don’t try to see it.
